The Blue Diamond Riders, who are they? They are Marine veterans who will ride their motorcycles from Camp Pendleton, CA to the Veteran Memorial Sites in Washington DC and then to the Marine Corps Museum in Quantico, VA. Why are they doing this? To raise funds for the 1st Marine Division Scholarship Fund INC. The money donated for this Scholarship Fund will help the children and grandchildren of First Marine Division veteran’s fully disabled, deceased, or MIA’s (Missing In Action). Along the way, they will make several stops to various locations such as Memorials, Veteran’s Hospitals and schools. How can I help? Donations of any kind of items for sale or in support of this event will be greatly appreciated and will receive a Tax Acknowledgment Letter. Can I join in the ride? We are looking for volunteers to ride with us from WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Desert Storm, Iraq Freedom, and Afghanistan. We are offering a Blue Diamond Rider patch and Commemorative Chip for a small donation of $20.00 (all proceeds go to Scholarship Fund). The ride will take place between May 14-25, 2008. For more information access www.rftw.org . All donations should be sent to FMDA 410 Pier View Way, Oceanside, CA 92054, or contact June Cormier at 760-967-8561. |
